Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Six people, including the main accused, were detained by the police in Birbhum, West Bengal. The development comes after an explosion hit Margram village in the district on Saturday, killing one person. The deceased was a close associate of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader.
Margram police raided several places and areas after which one person identified as Sujauddin was arrested. Newton Shaikh, a close associate of TMC leader Laltu Shaikh, was killed in a blast in Margram village. The injured were taken to hospital.
Police said the bombs were aimed at Newton and Shaikh. The police are trying to get more information by interrogating the arrested.
Meanwhile, the Left parties claimed that this is the result of Trinamool Congress infighting and Mamata Banerjee is trying to cover up the facts.
